The retina is the light-sensitive layer at the back of the eye and directly determines visual quality. Retinal disease often progresses silently, which is why regular fundus examinations are critical, particularly for patients with diabetes and hypertension.

Diagnostics
- Wide-field fundus imaging
- Optical coherence tomography (OCT)
- Fundus fluorescein angiography (FFA), when needed
Treatment Options
- Intravitreal injections (anti-VEGF) — for AMD and diabetic macular edema
- Argon laser photocoagulation — for peripheral retinal conditions
- Vitreoretinal surgery consultation — referral to advanced centers when needed
