Cataract Surgery

Modern phacoemulsification treatment for the gradual clouding of the eye's natural lens, with premium intraocular lens options.

A cataract is the gradual loss of transparency in the eye’s natural lens with age. It typically becomes apparent after age 60, but it can occur earlier in those with diabetes, trauma, or certain medications.

Symptoms

  • Slowly progressive blurring of vision
  • Glare and halos when driving at night
  • Faded colors
  • Frequently changing glasses prescription

Treatment

Cataracts have one definitive treatment: phacoemulsification. The clouded lens is broken up with ultrasound energy and removed, and an intraocular lens (IOL) is implanted in its place.

The lens choice is tailored to each patient:

  • Monofocal — single focus, the classic option
  • Toric — corrects astigmatism
  • Multifocal / EDOF — premium options that provide both near and distance vision

Which lens suits you best is decided together, based on measurements of the eye and your daily-life needs.

Afterwards

The operation typically takes 15–20 minutes under topical anesthesia. Patients go home the same day. Most wake up the next morning with clearer vision; full recovery completes within 2–4 weeks.
